    Fri 03 Apr 2020 C Swann

This week, Mrs Spokes and Mrs Jordan have worked in the Dewstow Hub, where they have made an outstanding contribution to the country wide effort to respond to Covid 19.

They have brightened the lives of the children attending, and have of course, supported the work of our Key Workers.

Once again, the leaders of the Dewstow Hub have praised our staff highly.

Well done and thank you to you both!

  • Easter Break

    Fri 03 Apr 2020 C Swann

    Dear families,

    Well!!!

What a term it has been...not necessarily what I was expecting for my first term!

However, I am thrilled to a part of our school community and both myself and the staff at ARW would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your ongoing support and consideration, and we would like to wish you all a very Happy Easter.

It is time for us all to ‘step back’ from teaching for the next two weeks, particularly at home where you really are on the ‘front line’. As for as possible within this unprecedented situation, we hope that you are able to find opportunity for relaxation and quality family time.

I have asked staff to turn off their computers for the next two weeks, so that they are refreshed and ready for the 20th April, when we return and continue with our home learning support.

Please take care and we send you all our warmest wishes,

    Best wishes

Caroline Swann and the ARW team

  • Business support

    Thu 02 Apr 2020 C Swann

Eligible businesses need to register NOW for business grants

The council is aware that many businesses are not making the most of the support that is there for them.

If you occupy business premises in Monmouthshire with a rateable value of £12,000 or less, or you are a retail, leisure or hospitality business with a rateable value of £12,001 to £51,000 you should be registering for a business grant NOW. A number of those who have successfully registered are already in receipt of the funds. Unless you fill in the online form, you will not receive the help you could be eligible for.

If you come under the Small Business Rates Relief, and you currently don’t pay business rates, you are still eligible to register for the grants.

The grants of £10,000 and £25,000 (which will not need to be paid back) will be administered by Monmouthshire County Council and registrations will be processed as soon as possible, subject to checking.

Welsh Government business grants are available in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, but it is estimated that up to 2,000 potentially eligible firms in Monmouthshire are yet to fill in the online registration form.

These grants will not automatically be paid to you. We need your details, so register online.

Your first step to check eligibility by visitinghttps://businesswales.gov.wales/covid-19-grants and then register at https://www.monmouthshire.gov.uk/business-advice/

The Welsh Government also has announced further financial support for businesses not covered by these grants. For more details and other available support https://businesswales.gov.wales/financial-support-and-grants

If you have a business or know of a business that could be eligible, please act now.
