Our Ethos team is made up of 8 enthusiastic junior children and 4 other members of our school community. We work hard to promote the Christian Ethos of our school and undertake many jobs including:

*Designing and creating the Creation mural in our school

*helping to organise our schools Values Day

* helping to maintain, evaluate and improve our class reflective areas

*planning, delivering, evaluating and recording our Collective Worship

* setting up our hall ready for Collective Worship i.e. ICT, altar, chairs

*helping teachers to choose appropriate hymns for Worship

*promoting Christian values throughout the school

 

Recently, we have worked with one of our parents, Mrs Collins, to make a Christian willow sculpture for our school grounds. We were keen for all visitors to know when you arrive at our school, that we are a Church in Wales Primary school, to which we agreed that a large Christian symbol was a perfect way to demonstrate this. The sculpture can be seen on your right as you enter our school.

We have also been involved in developing our school motto, which is not only very visual in and around our school building and grounds but also within the way all pupils and staff conduct themselves on a daily basis.

 

Our current aim is to develop a disused area of our school grounds into a peaceful, reflective area which we can all benefit from. We have been researching reflective areas in other schools, asking our immediate and wider school family their thoughts and taking part in regular meetings with the adults involved in the project, to try and help us design what we would like to see in our outdoor reflective area.

 

We are proud of our school and our Christian beliefs.
