R.E. Creation and Science: Conflicting or complementary?

Still image for this video
During our R.E. lessons this half term we have read the story of 'Genesis' from the Bible and looked into the scientific account of cosmology and of evolution.
We have discussed the relationship between the account of the creation in Genesis and the contemporary scientific accounts. We have questioned whether science and faith go together and if so how and why?
We discussed our thoughts and ideas about Christian beliefs about God as a Creator and what questions science couldn't answer.
We then came up with questions to ask a Christian Scientist to help us understand our 'Big Question: ' Creation and Science - conflicting or complementary?'
John Divall, retired Research Physicist at BP's Research Centre at Sunbury, joined us on a Team Meeting to answer our questions.

PE SESSIONS with Mrs Jones from Chepstow Comprehensive School

Youth Service Session-Teamwork 10.5.21

On Green Day we continued our learning about Energy and we considered how we could improve energy use in our School. Groups of children explored the possibilities of using renewable energy sources in ARW in the future and they have written a letter to Mrs Swann outlining their ideas. Other groups of children designed a questionnaire to assess how other classes try to save energy and made posters to try to raise awareness of the issue.

We have used our learning to try to make a difference to our lives and the world!
