Reception & Year One - Mrs Hoare

This may help - some games for helping children learn to read high-frequency words.

Great excitement in our class today when the postman delivered a fantastic surprise - a card from the Queen.  The children made sympathy cards for her when the Duke of Edinburgh passed away and she wrote to say thank you.

During our topic Voyage of Discovery the children have been designing and making their own vehicles from recycled items.  Here are a few photos to show you what they have created.

The children loved Green Day.  Here is a short presentation to tell you what we got up to.

The children were very sad last week to hear that the Queen's husband had passed away.  After learning a little about his life, they decided they would like to make cards for the Queen.  They worked hard all week and today were very excited to walk to the post box in the village to post it themselves.  Even a local dog stopped to see what we were doing, he was very excited to see the children.

Billie and Lilly have finally returned to school.  Here they are enjoying the sunshine.

The book we are reading this week is called Mr Gumpy's Outing.  We are enjoying acting out a puppet show of the story and making boats and finding out if they sink or float.

Forest School is a little different in the school grounds, but we still have fun.  The children really enjoyed feeding the birds today.
