This week in Literacy we have been learning about Report writing. We have found out and identified features that make a good report, then we wrote our own!
We discussed as a class, that to be successful in writing reports they must include a title, sub-headings, simple facts, adjectives, picture, labels and captions.
After reading Rainbow Fish last week and creating our own Rainbow animal, we were then able to write a report on our own Rainbow animals.
We have also been focussing on capital letters, full stops, question marks, commas and then even looked at apostrophes for causation e.g. can't instead of can not this week.
In Maths this week we have been recognising coin values, finding totals and comparing price tags, finding most/least expensive. Please help children with these skills, particularly with real money and real life buying and selling.
Within our independent enhanced (Over to you) jobs we have been finding and making 3D/2D shapes/animals with a range of resources including ICT. Reinforcing our doubling/halving skills, learnt from last week, by playing dominoes and matching games. Sketching ocean scenes, role playing/hot seating Rainbow animal stories and writing our very own Peace prayers. And much much more.......
